Dan is an accomplished musician who first took piano lessons at the age of two. His teacher wanted to put him on television playing “Greensleeves”, but Dan’s mother felt that the song would be too difficult because of the use of sharps (black keys) necessary to play the song. As a classical pianist, Dan took a tremendous liking to the works of Frederic Chopin.

Dan refused to play or listen to anything but classical music until the age of 17, when he was “polluted” by rock ‘n roll music and picked up the guitar and attempted to learn almost every song and lead by Edward Van Halen.
Along the way, Dan has also learned to play bass guitar, drums, and most recently, cello and violin. He has toured with rock bands, playing both guitar and keyboards, and singing background vocals.
